Thought itself is potent. By their own determined ways of behavior, they create results and reactions for themselves and to others. When these thoughts join with the electro-magnetic flow of pranic energy (praana shakti), their intensity multiplies many times. Thought of each and every individual has this ability. Fundamentally there are only very few who use it as an art with complete balance and correct way. Philosophers have made a detailed study on the powers of thoughts. Acharya Sankara says that each man has his own world made of thoughts, known as the mental body. We can understand it to be a world of thoughts and imaginations. Even thought intellect (buddhi) plays an important role in the development of thoughts, in a deeper understanding, both mind and intellect fall in the preview of the consciousness called the mind. According to buddism, every man moves and lives in his own world. This world of his is different from the world of another person. When there is some similarity between these different worlds they can interpenetrate. Only under such conditions can one person come in contact with another person. Only them can there be an interchange of ideas. Modern psychologists have confirmed these philosophic thoughts by their experimental methods. According to them, when something is said to a group, every individual receives it in his own different way. Never are the words uttered by the speaker is exactly taken in the sense he meant them. In it s place some thing which is already existing in the minds of the audience is taken up. In reality mind is the root cause to mould and shape thoughts. It is not the cause for knowledge. The mind continuously goes on building different shapes at every instance. Thoughts have shapes. Poffenberger, a psychologist studied the shapes of various thoughts (thought-forms), in his book "Principles of applied psychology". In his studies, he believes that the mind sends different thought-forms into the world and these roam all over to fulfill their purpose. According to professor Dr. J.B. Rhine of Duke University the technique of thought transference is based on this process. Thoughts are formed when we think on a specific object. These created thoughts take a shape and go in search of the object about which the thoughts were generated. If behind these thoughts there is a specified will or determination the thought-form that comes out of the mind tries to fulfill it self. According to the psychologist Roberto Assagioli, in his book "Psycho synthesis" says, when the result of these thought-forms happen, by that time, we have already forgotten that desire or left thinking about it, such type of non systematic thinking pattern can be taken as a deficiency in the process of thinking. This deficiency of mind has been clearly analyzed by H.A. Roger in "The Psychology of Efficiency." According to him, the creativity of thoughts of certain people is very powerful and their every thought fructifies. But in majority of cases, the link between the vital body and mental body is not well established. That's why they think sometimes on a particular aspect and then exactly in the opposite way. These antagonist creations clash with each other. Prof. Roger brings another fact in this connection and says that by creating negative thought-forms we invite ourselves unwanted situations. He opines that the effect of the above fact spreading over a large number of people is the main cause which makes them wonder why their lives are so disrupt and uncoordinated. They are not aware that the unwanted negative conditions are out come of their own negative and contradictory thoughts. The unbalanced and antagonistic situations make the life of people unbearable. These studies of para psychology are very important. But they are useful only when one can understand how to make proper use of this mystery in their daily life. Sri Aurobindo in his letters on Yoga makes this very clear and says that generally man is ignorant of the creative power of his thoughts and continuously goes on creating senseless and silly thought-forms. They just do knot know how the creations of mind move and act. These ignorant and uncontrolled thought-forms generate a clash between themselves. This is reflected as mental tension and exertion. Self analysis and self study are the methods by which the development of one's thoughts can be studied. There after with determined effort and putting pressure relentlessly they can be mould and controlled. The thought-forms can be structured by determination and given direction by the vital force giving full energy to it and there by achieving success. The above advocated process of Sri Aurobindo is given the name "thought process" by the psychologists. Different thinkers and scientists develop a taste and habit of thinking for a long time on a particular topic. Thus they are able to get the pearls of success just as the deep sea divers are able to get. Those who just wander on the sands of the shore will be able to amass just some worthless shells. By giving a direction to our internal tastes, one can be free of negative thought-forms very easily. Such persons go deep into the realms of mind and have ideals. The thoughts of shallow minded people are just like the dust particles according to the passing winds, whereas those who have the power of creating thoughts will have ideals and show rock like stability in all their enterprises. This sadhana of discipline of thoughts is complete and total in itself. Acharya Sankara in his "Aparokshanubhuti," says that just as without light one cannot recognize a thing, similarly without disciplining the thoughts one cannot learn the art of living. Without any doubt, in every dimension of multi-dimensional life, shaping of thoughts is important. Understanding this fact and exerting control over mental body and vital body mobilization of well organized thought-forms and proper utilization of it, can be mastered. Thus one can achieve an auspicious, successful and high grade life.
